Newtown Silver band survives due to the hardwork and commitment of its' members who are all entirely voluntary players in the band. We undertake a large number of engagements throughout the year primarily in order to maintain our bandroom but also to compete at National contests and to represent Newtown at the highest possible level. Linked with that are the costs of purchasing music and the maintenance of over £30,000 worth of instruments.

200 CLUB |
We run a 200 club for which we are always on the look out for new members. The basic premise is that participants purchase membership for just £5 a year, which entitles them to entry into the 12 monthly draws that are made. Prizes given each month are:

This has been run for many years by one of our percussionists, Margaret Breeze and it has provided valuable additional funding for the band.

BONUS BALL |
The latest fundraising competition is the Bonus Ball which is £1 per week paid in ten week sections. So for £10 you get one number for 10 weeks in the bonus ball competition. The winner is the one who has the number of the bonus ball drawn in the National Lotto.
